It has been six years since the fulfillment of the Nerevarine Prophecies and the death of Dagoth Ur. On the mainland, the Redoran and Indoril are struggling to maintain control of their lands, and Dres and Hlaalu, led by King Hlaalu Helseth and his Dres wife, rise up against the Indoril. However on the island of Vvardenfell, three tenacious Great Houses continue to vie for power. As time has passed many more factions have arisen all hoping to carve out their own place on Vvardenfell by taking advantage of the rising tensions. Other groups have split from their counterparts in Tamriel and have turned their sights on Vvardenfell to preserve their place in the world. However, despite the best efforts of Duke Vedam Dren, and the long existing House Wars custom run by the Morag Tong, nothing seems able to alleviate the pressure and suppress a potential war. The rising tensions over the possession of Caldera, an expanding Mages Guild, and the possibility of Ashlander representation in the Grand Council are all quickly pushing the people of Vvardenfell to war. Conflict looms ominously as Redoran demand to be given back Caldera after the fall of Ald-ruhn where they lost their clanstead but succeeded to protecting the rest of Vvardenfell from another large Daedric invasion. Redoran and Telvanni grow closer as their efforts to shield the rest of Vvardenfell from Nordic raids and Oblivion invasions are met with little gratitude by the masses who thank the Nine Divines and the Hlaalu who profit off reconstruction. War seems inevitable, and it appears that it is only a matter of time. And while the secular forces make alliances and prepare for war, the last living god too has his own troubles. Vivec is said to have disappeared and the Temple hierarchy is worried. Rumors of a House Dagoth are materializing just as the Tribunal Temple is beginning to disarm and reform. Oracles speak of Molag Bal and his Dreugh children having their revenge on the man-god and Lie Rock finally falling and destroying not only Vivec City, but marring all of Morrowind.... |
